Kenneth S. Matomola

Chief Executive Officer (NAMFISA)

Kenneth S. Matomola is the Chief Executive Officer of the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA). Previously he held various positions in NAMFISA (Acting CEO, Assistant CEO: Supervision, General Manager: Investment Institutions, General Manager: Research, Policy & Statistics), at First National Bank (Manager: Regulatory Reporting), and Bank of Namibia (various positions in Banking Supervision Department). His professional interests lie in financial regulations and supervision and markets development. Mr Matomola is the current Chairperson of the Committee of Insurance, Securities and Non-banking Financial Authorities (CISNA), a substructure of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). He also serves on the Executive Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS). Mr. Matomola holds MSc. in Financial Economics from the University of London, Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Namibia, and Advance Diploma in Central Banking from the Institute of Bankers South Africa. He further completed the Senior Leadership Development Programme with the University of Cape Town and the Senior Executive Programme – Africa, with the Harvard Business School.

Dr. Peter O. Onyango

Principal Specialist Risk and Stress Testing (CMA of Kenya)

Dr. Peter O. Onyango has (17) years’ wealth of experience in risk management, regulatory sandbox, high-level policy development and crisis management. He currently serves as Principal Specialist Risk & Stress Testing at the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) – Kenya. At the CMA, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Kenyan derivatives market. He is currently utilizing his skills in equities, online FX, blockchain, regulatory sandbox, sustainability/green finance, and other markets. He previously worked with KCB Bank Group Limited as a Market Risk Manager and with East Africa Reinsurance Company as an Actuarial Analyst. Dr. Onyango holds a doctorate in Business Administration from the United States International University in Kenya, a Master's in Finance from Strathclyde University (UK), and a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science.

Esther Manthi

Manager: Licensing and Approvals (CMA of Kenya)

Esther has over 16 years’ experience in corporate commercial law, FinTech and regulatory sandboxes, mergers and acquisitions. She is currently Manager, Licensing and Approvals at the Capital Markets Authority-Kenya. In this position, she undertakes the ‘gatekeeping’ role by reviewing applications for licensing and approvals for both debt and equities to ensure compliance with the regulatory framework while at the same time deepening the capital markets in Kenya. Esther is also the Chair of the Regulatory Sandbox Review Committee at the Capital Markets Authority, Kenya. She possesses a good understanding of regulatory sandboxes and FinTechs. Prior to joining the Authority, Esther worked with one of the leading law firms in kenya as a senior associate in charge of corporate commercial transactions. Esther holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi, and a Master of Arts Degree (International Conflict Management) from the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, University of Nairobi. She is Advocate of the High Court of Kenya of 16 years’ standing, with extensive experience in legal practice.

Niyi Adegboye

Chief Operating Officer / CO-founder (Prembly)

Niyi Adegboye is a co-founder at Prembly, a leading Security Infrastructure & Compliance Company for Digital Businesses Across Emerging Markets, where he oversees Partnerships and Operations. Niyi started out in tech as a software developer, transitioned to a product manager, and finally settled in business development. Before Prembly, he was the Head of Growth and Partnerships at Accounteer and Edves, spearheading business development, customer success and driving growth by developing strategies and tactics to increase customer base and revenue. Niyi attended the Tekedia Institute obtaining an MBA certification in Innovation Growth and Digital Execution.
