About Insurance & Medical Aid Fund
The Insurance and Medical Aid Funds Division (the division) oversees the regulation of short-term insurance companies, long-term insurance companies, and medical aid funds in Namibia. The division is responsible for ensuring that short-term and long-term insurance companies, as well as medical aid funds, operate in compliance with the Short-term Insurance Act, 1998 (Act No. 4 of 1998), the Long-term Insurance Act, 1998 (Act No. 5 of 1998), and the Medical Aid Funds Act, 1995 (Act No. 23 of 1995) and other relevant Acts and regulations.
