New Year, New Goals: A Message from the Editor<\/h3><\/span><\/div>
2017 is off to a great start, and as the newly appointed Editor of the Consumer Education Bulletin, I want to thank our readers for their support and feedback. I joined the team in October 2016, and I\u2019ve enjoyed being part of a publication that tells meaningful stories to help consumers understand their rights and responsibilities.\n\nThis first edition of the year features insightful articles on topics like pension funds, choosing medical aid, and warm messages from NAMFISA. As we embrace new beginnings, whether it\u2019s saving more, getting healthier, or growing professionally, I\u2019m reminded of my own journey moving from banking into a regulatory environment where I can pursue my passion for consumer education.\n\nHaving worked in communications and PR for 18 years, I\u2019ve learned that growing your career starts with growing your network. Networking isn\u2019t just about updating LinkedIn, it\u2019s about real conversations and meaningful connections. You never know who\u2019s looking for what, or when.\n\nThat\u2019s why I\u2019m making networking a top priority this year. It\u2019s important to stay connected with peers and mentors who can challenge, inspire, and support you. So I leave you with this: What good is a contact if you\u2019re not actually mining a relationship with that individual?\n\nAfter all, if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with others.<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
