Only Registered Insurance Agents & Brokers May Operate<\/h3><\/span><\/div>
The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA), established under Act No. 3 of 2001, is responsible for regulating and supervising financial institutions and services in Namibia.\n\nUnder the Long- and Short-Term Insurance Acts, no one may operate as an insurance agent, broker, or reinsurance broker (excluding noncommission\nearning employees of a registered insurer) unless officially registered with NAMFISA.<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  • <\/span>Only registered insurance agents or brokers may legally operate in Namibia.<\/li>
  • <\/span>It is a criminal offence to transact with an unregistered agent or broker.<\/li>
  • <\/span>Convictions can result in fines of up to N$150,000, up to 10 years' imprisonment, or both.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
