Governance

The Authority is governed by a board, appointed by the Minister of Finance in terms of the NAMFISA Act 2001.  The Act confers on the board overall responsibility for the management and control of the Authority’s affairs, and the exercise of powers conferred and the performance of duties imposed on the Authority by Act 2001 or any other law.

The Authority recognizes that good corporate governance is vital for the regulator to ensure compliance with laws and legislations, accountability and transparency to our stakeholders. The Authority believes that maintaining good governance practices will enhance its reputation and enable it to carry out its mandate as conferred by the NAMFISA Act.

The board is responsible for strategic direction and control of the Authority by ensuring that decision and actions taken are based on values underpinning good governance.
