WHISTLE BLOWERS OR PUBLIC INTEREST INFORMANTS
Giving information to Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) about entities we regulate.
As prudential regulator of non-bank financial institutions, NAMFISA's responsibilities include ensuring that the institutions we regulate meet the promises they make to the users of financial services, policyholders and pensioners. In carrying out that function, NAMFISA is interested in any information which the public can provide about:
- the financial health of the institutions we regulate,
- the prudent management of those institutions,
- any possible failure to comply with the laws NAMFISA administers, or
- NAMFISA not properly performing its functions.
If you have any information related to the above [which is relevant to the financial health or the prudent management of a non-bank financial institution which NAMFISA may not be aware of or about NAMFISA not properly performing its functions], we are interested in hearing from you.
However, if you have information about (for instance) disclosure issues or corporate issues, or a complaint about the way in which a non-bank financial institution supervised by us has treated you, NAMFISA may be the appropriate agency for you to contact in this regard.

CONFIDENTIALITY
We treat the information you give to us confidentially. We will not disclose that information to anyone outside NAMFISA, unless you authorize us to do so or except to the extent we are required law.
WHAT WE CAN TELL YOU
The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority Act, 2001 (Act No. 3 of 2001) restricts the information we can disclose to you or to the public about the entities we regulate and about the action we take, even where you have provided us with information.
Therefore, while you can expect us to take the information you provide seriously, we may not give you much information about what we do about or with it.
HOW TO CONTACT US
There are several ways you can give us useful information about an entity we regulate or NAMFISA's performance of its functions, including:
- by writing a letter to NAMFISA setting out the information you wish to refer to NAMFISA and clearly indicating the responsible department sending it to:

- by sending us information electronically through On-line Complaints on our Website (www.namfisa.com.na). This information will be transmitted to our compliance officers; or

We prefer to have your name and contact details, but you can provide information anonymously. However, details of people who provide any information to NAMFISA will not be revealed except where required by law and NAMFISA will take positive action where details of people are disclosed.
